October 21, 2013 – Shakti Dalal, a breast cancer survivor who had her breast reconstructive surgery at Westside Surgical Hospital appeared today on FOX 26’s morning news show. Interviewed by award-winning journalist, Rita Garcia, the mother of three small children shared her story of bravery. Dalal found a lump in her underarm while breast-feeding her baby and thought it was a clogged milk duct. October 14, 2013 – In a continued effort to raise awareness about breast cancer diagnosis and treatment options, Westside Surgical Hospital was featured on Fox 26 morning news show with health reporter, Melissa Wilson. Two patients from Westside Surgical Hospital were interviewed and discussed their personal experience with breast cancer and breast care. One patient opted for a preventative double mastectomy after testing positive for the BRCA-2 gene mutation and being told by her doctor that she had an 86% chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime.
