October 14, 2013 – In a continued effort to raise awareness about breast cancer diagnosis and treatment options, Westside Surgical Hospital was featured on Fox 26 morning news show with health reporter, Melissa Wilson. Two patients from Westside Surgical Hospital were interviewed and discussed their personal experience with breast cancer and breast care. One patient opted for a preventative double mastectomy after testing positive for the BRCA-2 gene mutation and being told by her doctor that she had an 86% chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime. The other patient was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through chemotherapy earlier this year. Following a mastectomy at Westside Surgical Hospital, she is now undergoing radiation treatment.
