Dillard’s to host BRA Day Event for Survivors & Community

HOUSTON, Texas, September 25, 2015 – Dillard’s department store, in conjunction with the educational program Westside Surgical Hospital & Breast Center is pleased to announce an event Friday, October 16 for BRA Day. BRA day promotes breast reconstruction awareness and is timed in mid-October each year, to coincide with breast health awareness month. The event is in support of the non-profit organization, Reconstruction of a Survivor whose mission is to improve the lives of those impacted by breast cancer. On October 16, purchases from any department can be paid for in the Intimate Apparel department and Dillard’s will donate 10 percent to Reconstruction of a Survivor.

The master of ceremonies for the program will be Deborah Duncan of KHOU’s Great Day Houston. Scheduled to present is Dr. Camille Cash, a plastic surgeon and Dr. Jamie Terry, a general surgeon, who both treat breast cancer survivors and perform surgeries at Westside Surgical Hospital & Breast Center. Also presenting will be Dr. Jennie Bennett, founder of Reconstruction of a Survivor. These talks are scheduled to take place starting at 1:00 p.m. followed by discussion from the audience. Refreshments will be served throughout the day and Dillard’s will be providing free bra fittings until the store closes. Those attending are also eligible for door prizes.

The event is sponsored in part by the educational portal Brave is Beautiful, a breast care and education resource that provides free information for breast cancer patients, survivors and their families regarding  reconstructive surgical options.
